1. The Ogun State House of Assembly had on Jan. 31, 2017 passed the MKO Abiola University Bill and the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, Bill respectively.
2. Ogun Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, 13th March, 2017 signed the bill to upgrade the state-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, Abeokuta.
Also signed into law is the bill to establish the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia in Yewa area of the state.

3. The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday, 3rd April, 2017 inaugurated an eleven man Technical committee to midwife the take-Off of the newly established Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, Abeokuta and the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia. The governor stressed the need for the committee to facilitate and obtain all necessary approvals for the take-off of the institutions.
The committee which had Prof. Peter Okebukola and Prof. Oludele Itiola as the Chairman and Secretary respectively has Professors Ishaq Oloyede, Rahmon Bello, Ganiu Olatunde, Femi Bamiro, Dr. Sabur Raji, Dr. Ebenezer Nkom, Chief (Mrs) Ronke Folarin, Mr. Bola Bankole and Mr. Rahim Jimoh as its members.
4. The committee are to deliver on or before 3rd September, 2017.
